Mustang Owners Club of Austin
The Ford Mustang which appeared in April of 1964, means many things to many people. The car is a tradition in the hearts of both young and old. In the Mustang Owners Club of Austin (MOCA), we celebrate the diversity in our many different members, their cars, and their interests. Please Contact Us with any questions you may have.
Car of The Month - December
We bought the car in August of this year. It was with a dealer, 'Old Town Automobile & Truck Sales' in Huntingtown, Maryland. It took several weeks before it could be shipped to us - it just so happened that's when the northeast was hit with all that bad weather and everything was going under water!! Well, it was finally shipped to us and we picked it up mid-September at an Exxon station on Hwy. 29 near Georgetown. We knew that big semi-truck could make it down our county road, but would never make it down our driveway or get turned around out on the county road. It was a trip the first time I drove it home.
From looking at the old title, the car is from the north - as far as I can tell it started out in Illinois. How it ended up in Maryland, I don't know. But, now it's in Liberty Hill, Texas!!
I told my trainer about the car and he was so excited for me - he had a 1965 when he was younger. He told me that I should join the Mustang Club - which I did. When I checked out the website and saw that y'all had different activities and get-togethers I thought it would be fun and would give me a chance to meet new people and enjoy the car as well.
We're currently having some work done to it - we had it checked out to make sure it's in good running order, making sure it's safe. The trip to Taylor was the first time I had it out and I really enjoyed it.
I'm glad I have the car - it's a sweet sweet ride!! I'm really enjoying the car, it brings back memories of when life was simpler, plus I'm getting compliments and thumbs-up all the time!! I know when Larry retires; he's going to enjoy it as much as I do - if not more!!!
Thanks,
Ginny Haynes
