Car of the Month January 2024

I was ten years old when the Mustang came out in 1964 and like many of us, I thought it was "really neat". Then in 1965 when they introduced the 2+2 fastback I was enraptured (see picture of my original 1965 Mustang Corgi Toy). However, for various reasons, I didn't get my first Mustang until I bought a 2014 nice black one with manual transmission (of course), but I knew someday I would own a GT.

Steve and Norma’s 2018 GT

That day came in May of 2018. I had been scouring the lot at Covert Ford, peering in the windows of about a dozen GT's but all had automatics. I was afraid Ford had stopped making manuals anymore (perish the thought), it seemed like I had waited too long, when I spied a white one I hadn't seen earlier. I peeked in and saw a manual shifter, as well as a lower price, so I thought this one's for me. The only thing I've done to it is replace the shifter knob with a white cue ball "Bullitt" style knob.

I have really been enjoying the awesome power it delivers but haven't gotten a speeding ticket yet. It's been a great car until the recent battery mishap on 01/20/24, but that's not the Mustang's fault.

Thanks,

Steve & Norma
